Pearl River, NY - Philip Greenan, affectionately known as Phil or "Senior," of Pearl River, New York, passed away peacefully at home on March 31, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was 86.
Philip was born on June 27, 1937, in Scotshouse, County Monaghan, to Patrick and Mary Greenan. Phil emigrated to the United States in the spring of 1956 and honorably served in the US Army from 1956-1958. The pinnacle of his life was marrying Catherine Cuddy, his enduring love, from County Roscommon, on August 27, 1960, at St. Ann’s Church in the Bronx, NY.
Phil and Catherine, known as Cathy, began their family life in the Bronx, later moving to Pearl River to raise their four children. In 1971, Phil ventured into entrepreneurship by founding Greenan Business Machines, marking the inception of what would flourish into a cherished family enterprise.
Beyond his professional achievements and love for running, Phil will be forever remembered for his profound devotion to his family and the tenacity he applied to every facet of life. His integrity was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding his roles as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Phil's legacy is carried on by his wife, Catherine; children, Pamela (Erik), Deborah (Michael), Mary (George), and Philip Jr. (Sharon); grandchildren, Aishling (Michael), Conor, Jeffrey, Katherine, Julia, Stevi, and Grace; and great-granddaughter, Phoebe.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4, from 4-8 pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, Pearl River. . The mass will be at 10:00 on Friday, April 5 at St. Aedan’s Church, Pearl River.
